Outline plan:

  • Cartoon overhead: “Vater, Mutter, Kinn
  • Repeat family vocab on bottom of page 46 (including some plural forms)
    • Time permitting, ask some questions like those in Aktivität 9
    • Missing from Vorsprung vocab: “Stief-” = “step-“; “Halb-” = “half-“
  • Instructor shows an imaginary family tree. Students answer questions and form sentences about it in pairs
  • Overhead: haben und ein
    • Instructor gives examples like:
      • Ich habe einen/zwei/drei/…/keine Bruder/Brüder
      • Ich habe eine/zwei/drei/…/keine Nichte(n)
      • Ich möchte ein/zwei/drei/…/keine Kind(er)
      • Meine Mutter heißt __________
    • Students tell their partners what family members they have or would like to have
  • “Geldprobleme” cartoon ( p. 49); then do Aktivität 11 (Partner*innen)
