Repeat “Sprache im Alltag”: wishing someone luck (S. 338)
Each student gets a slip of paper with (a) a general and (b) a specific statement. Examples:
(a) Ich muss morgen zum Arzt. (b) Ich habe Kopfschmerzen, Fieber und Durchfall.
(a) Ich habe morgen eine Prüfung… (b) …in Chemie.
(a) Ich muss morgen vorsingen [=audition by singing]… (b) …für eine Rolle in Mozarts Zauberflöte.
Students mingle. Each pair proceeds as follows:
Student 1 reads their statement (a)
Student 2 asks questions in order to find out the more specific info in Student 1’s statement (b). Student 1 answers “Ich weiß nicht” for all questions whose answer is not on the slip of paper, and provides the “right” answer when Student 2 asks the “right” question.
Once they know the specific info, Student 2 wishes Student 1 luck, using one of the “Sprache im Alltag” expressions from p. 338
Now Student 2 reads their statement (a), and Student 1 asks questions, etc.
