German paintings and sculptures at the University of Michigan Museum of Art
Click here to get to the museum’s home page, and and click on “collection” which is one of the choices at the top of the page. You will get a search screen. Type in “German” and return. You should get about 400 results, of which you should be sure to check out the paintings by Nolde and Beckmann, for example. You will see thumbnail sketches of most of the pieces, and generally you can click on them to see a larger image and background information about the work.
