Dear all,

Two of our graduating seniors plan to publish a new online German magazine that contains work produced in German classes. If you would like to be involved, you can find out more information here. German students at all levels are invited to participate: anyone interested in graphic design, editing, writing, or similar roles.

Mary Gell is braving the cold and invites you for a double-layered stroll outside to speak German on Thursday, February 11, 4 p.m, Bell Tower (“German Convo on the Go“). German Convo Home Edition will continue to take place virtually on Wednesdays from 6-7.

All LSA Juniors are invited to attend an information session on Friday, February 12, for the accelerated MA program in Transcultural Studies.

The College of Engineering (CoE) offers a virtual version of its undergraduate research program at the RWTH in Aachen. The application deadline is Monday, February 22.

CoE also provides funding for virtual internships abroad. Though the final application deadline is only on Tuesday, June 1, you may want to apply earlier.

  • There’s also a facebook page: look for “German Table / Stammtisch”
  • Alternatively, contact Mechthild Heerde-Olind at heerdeolind@yahoo.com for the current location and for more information.
  • This is NOT something you can do to make up an absence, but you can still go for fun and/or write about it for an AMD.

Study Advice: “Adjusting Your Study Habits During COVID”

  • If you are looking for ways to structure studying under these new circumstances, here is some great advice for adjusting your study habits. VIELEN Dank to the German Club’s Paul Chamberlain for finding this. It is full of excellent advice. I am a big fan of the “Pomodoro method” for focussed “mono-tasking.”
  • If you are on campus, the Study Spaces at U-M website helps you find and reserve study spaces.
